Astro News
September ushers in a lot of new cosmic energy as many of your know Saturn (Lord of Karma) moved into Virgo September 2nd. Venus ends her retrograde period September 8th, (Venus retrogrades every every two years.) This gave us time to review our relationships, end some, bring someone back into our lives and try to balance our budget. Next we have a solar eclipse on September 11th in the sign of Virgo at 8:45am EDT. This is us to meditate on bringing new beginnings in our lives, especially since this new moon is an Eclipse. The Sun moves into the sign of peace loving Libra September 23rd at 5:52am EDT. This period will focus on relationships and partnerships. The Full Moon is September 26th at 3:46pm EDT in the sign of Aries. Those in relationships need to be careful that they are not giving up their dreams and hopes or being for another person but rather working as an equal in the relationship. The key for us all is finding a personal balance between individual needs and relationships needs. |
Nice Letters We Get
Editor's Note: The next letter is from a client who reads Maria's weekly horoscope column in the National Enquirer. Maria gives lucky numbers in the column every week too. The writer used the numbers and won! Also, the writer won after buying a gemstone money necklace from Maria's web site store. Read on! Name was changed of Starscoper to protect identity)
Dear Maria -
I am so glad to be writing to let you know I saw the 3 numbers for Leo (in your National Enquirer column) and I was playing those numbers but gave up when they did not come up.
However, 3 games later (Keno) they did come up with 3 other numbers that I had picked. I wish I had continued to play them but I did win $55.00 on the latest 3 numbers which you gave in the Enquirer that were 5 - 10 - 14. I bought the green aventurine necklace from your web site store a few weeks ago which you said was good for money. It is very beautiful and the very first time I wore it I won $1000.00 playing Bingo. What a huge blessing as we were going on vacation and it helped to pay for some expenses. I did wear the necklace again at the Casino but never did win any more. Does it only work 1 time?
Evelyn from New Jersey
Dear Evelyn;
Congratulations on your winnings. Anytime you win, you need to give a part of the winnings back to the universe or the universe will stop working on your behalf. Did you give 10% to a charity or someone in need of the last winnings? If not, that could be one answer as to why your luck has stopped. Also, sometimes the crystals will stop working for you when they have absorbed too much energy of the environment, etc. IF you were at the Bingo Hall or Casino, that environment is filled with so much energy and all kinds. You need to cleanse the necklace make it pure again so it will continue to work for you. Keep an eye on your lucky numbers and your lucky days too. You won't win every time but if you use my lucky days (they can also be found in my annual moon calendar along with the weekly lucky numbers in my National Enquirer column) along with the money crystal, you should increase your chances for winning. You will still win every now and then but don't expect to win every time. I know one Leo client who won for months on end and then it stopped for the summer and now he is back to winning. He carried the citrine he got from me and the aventurine in his pocket. Your luck has not run out. You will win again and probably before the year is up!
Maria
Dear Maria,
I just ordered 3 of the aventurine heart stones for I know that I will need one as well. Thank you for going above and beyond - it just shows that you really do care about others. I had great vibes when I met you and have never been disappointed yet.
Blessings,
Rosie
Dear Rosie - That's what we are here for; to spread the knowledge and share the information. Carry the aventurine in your left pocket when you go to the casino or on a job interview, etc. Let me know when you win!!!
Maria
Dear Maria
Back in November 2006, I heard you on the radio (WIOG) one morning and you were talking about an upcoming fair. I went to your web site and read thru some of your past newsletters and was really drawn into one of your articles that described the different gems you have and ended up purchasing several different one over a month time span as well as your books. Back in November 2006, I was at a point in my life where I was questioning what I am here for? What is it that I'm suppose to do? My family and I just thought I was depressed. That's when I started reading your books, Soul Mates/Cell Mates, Enchanted Soul, and Heart & Soul. As I was reading them, there were certain things that just clicked deep inside of me, it kind of scared me. The next time I heard you on the radio, you talked about the fair that was in Midland that weekend. I asked my mom and together we went that morning. Anyway, I did a reading with Angelyn Hunter and my whole world changed!!! I know that this may sound crazy, given the fact that you DON'T know me. I've been receiving guidance from Lyn Hunter about the things that are happening and she has been a tremendous help, as well as a wonderful friend. But, with her living in Canada, it feels that there is still something missing. I've still not been able to put "all of the peices" of the puzzle together yet. I truly feel that attending the different break out sessions would help me SO much on this Spiritual Journey I now find myself on. A WIOG Fan
Hi Maria!
How great it is that you are connecting your energy with the ARE (Edgar Cayce Institute).. I've been a member since the 70's - even have a letter from Hugh Lynn Cayce that I treasure. They recently made an observation in their magazine "Venture Inward" that people will be attracted to the ARE based on the psychic phenomena and then they will stay because of the spiritual connection. You have the ability to bring in many thousands of seekers. When Christ said He wanted us to be "fishers of men" He must have been looking 2000 years into the future to see you. Your wonderful gifts that just put people in awe, you may be the catalyst that nudges them to a more spiritual life. God bless you real good!
Your friend, Linda from Bay City
Hi Maria,
I just wanted to follow up with you from the reading you gave me on Thursday, August 23. As you have said previously in my last reading, a lot of admirers have been trying to put their moves on me. You told me back in May that in late August/September this would happen and my fiance, the Pisces needs to be on his game. You told me in this reading that I would start to have more prophetic dreams and so far that it's slowly happening. Sunday afternoon during a nap, I had a dream of my friend Tony (who I've not seen in about 4 years) was in financial crisis / having money problems and his sister was engaged. So far I've only confirmed the first one about Tony himself since I decided to give him a call and tell him about the dream. I've never dreamt of people's problems before. It was rather interesting. Then you told me about meeting a new spirit guide in my dream. I believe he came to me, he had Gold hair like you described him, but instead of appearing in Fabio form like you were saying, he appeared as a cartoon character on The Simpsons. He told me his name was Roml (pronounced Rommel) and I'll be learning more about my abilities and also will help me express myself in my writing (just as you said!). I had the dream the night after our reading and I didn't even have the reading on my mind when I went to bed!
I'm slowly working on my own tarot deck again, thanks to you for picking up that forgotten project that I NEED to finish. I still can't believe how you picked that up!
You continue to amaze me with your intuitiveness and how you're able to put my chart into layman's terms. You are indeed a light worker! I so wish I could attend your Cosmic Convention and study with you and those that are like-minded, but hopefully you will have the convention next year and as you suggested in one of your newsletters, I'm starting a spiritual journey savings.
You are my favorite astrologer. I used to not believe in Astrology so much until you were on Oldies 96 WHNN. You really changed my mind that astrology isn't so complicated and it does work!
Thanks for everything!)
Love,
Samantha
your friend & client
Here is a satisfied client who did the 1 Question on the web site store.
Maria,
Thanks so much! Everything you said reinforces how I feel about this guy. I actually haven't talked to him in a couple of days now...so he is erratic. Furthermore, last Sunday I had a sneaky suspicion that he might be slightly involved with someone else. When I first met him, he made a comment I wasn't too thrilled about either. After you described him...it sounds like something he would say ("I saw a hot chick talking to like five different guys...I wasn't going to be another number"). I got a little sense of jealousy and stubbornness from that comment.
Also...I had a reading (One Question) done back in May...you are amazing! It was about my ex-boyfriend, I was having dreams about him. You told me that thoughts are like energy and that him and his new girlfriend were fighting more. Consequently, he may be reminiscing about our past relationship. You told me that he may randomly call and he did! The ironic part was that I had a vivid dream about him (it woke me up!) an hour before he called. Now the calls are getting closer together which may be a sign of the possible breakup this summer or early fall that you predicted as well. I appreciate everything you've said!
Thanks so much!
Karla, Warsaw Poland
Editor's Note - Maria does solar return charts for clients every year around their birthday. Helen, is one of the many who order their solar return charts and this is her most recent experience!
Hi Maria,
I try to keep a diary during my solar return. Below are the additional notes to my diary. I keep my diary in chart form. Enjoy! Thanks for being a major source of support for me. Hope to see you soon.
I was directed by the universe to spend my Birthday in London, ON, Canada on Saturday. There I spent most of the day in bookstores. Little did I realize that these bookstores symbolized my past, present, and future.
The first bookstore was a second hand bookstore, but unlike most second hand bookstore, this one bright and open, almost cheerful. This bookstore was neat, orderly with a friendly staff. I love second hand bookstores, as I never know what interesting books I can find from the past. However, this store still had the musty smell of seldom-used pages. I loved the smell. Wildflowers couldn't have smelled as sweet.
In that store, I found Viki King’s excellent book about how to write a screenplay in twenty-one days. This book was one of my Saturn guides. It was a great reminder of the past of when I wondered if I could write. I almost bought the book, but when I opened the book a loose page fell out. Written on the page was contact numbers for the Disney Studio and the Screen Actors Guild. It was the broken dreams of someone who had just given up. I will not give up. It has been two years, and I still haven't given up despite everything I have been through. As I flipped through the book, I found the markings of the previous owner. I felt some negative energy around the book so I put it back on the shelf. I was also looking for old astrology books, but I couldn't find any that interested me.
At the suggestion of the clerk in the second hand bookstore, I found a new age bookstore. The day was a glorious late summer day, cool but not cold. The sun was a welcome friend. I had a great walk and quickly found the bookstore. Its home was in a Victorian house. The sweet and pungent smell of incense hit my nose as soon as I walked in the door. Again, unlike the Mayflower Bookstore here in Michigan, this bookstore was bright and clean. I struck up a conversation with a lady who had just lost her husband. She told me about her work with famous poets including Robert Bly.
I had dinner and was going to celebrate the moment of my return in a mall parking lot when I noticed a bookstore called Chapters. The perfect place for the "magical moment!" I parked quickly and wondered if it would still be open. As I approached I realized that this bookstore was the Canadian equivalent of Borders or Barnes and Noble, complete with a Starbucks cafe. I settled in with some books and started my meditation. I thanked God for bringing me to the perfect place for me. Then I though about my vision board and what I wanted to bring into my life. After the moment had passed I thanked God for everything.
I then rose from my chair and strolled around the store finding books that represented what I wanted in my
life. The song, Sailing by Christopher Cross came on. When the song was finished I walked out of the bookstore and headed west back home to my New Year.
This year also suggests that I will have enough money to do what I want when I want as long as I don’t "blow" money away.
Peace,
Helen Reading
Editor's Note: Helen, who is a Leo also wanted to share her thoughts in a letter to all Virgo StarScopers who are now experiencing Saturn in Virgo.
Dear Maria,
As promised here is my thoughts about Saturn in Leo written as an open letter: Enjoy!
OPEN LETTER TO ALL YOU VIRGOS
On September 2, Saturn will be leaving Leo and entering in Virgo. I know all those Leos out there (myself included) will be popping the cork on many bottles of bubbly, and those Virgos will probably nursing their hot beverage of choice and wondering what in earth are they getting into. As someone who loves to give a lot of free advice (a definite Leo trait) let me some words of encouragement. It isn’t as bad as you think.
This transit is going to effect you largely in what house Saturn is going to be in, the degree of that house, and what aspects you have in your natal chart. My eleventh house has a cusp of 21 degree Leo so for most of this Saturn transit; pesky Saturn has been in my 10th house of career. This actually began when hit my MC at 21 degrees Cancer, so I have it since 2004. My biggest challenge was finding my true vocation. I was fired from a job that I really detested in 2005, so this was a blessing in disguise.
The first experience you are going to face is that Saturn is going to give you a little project. I can’t tell you what that project is going to be. The only advice I can give you is that you will know in your heart what that project is going to be.
The next thing is that you will not go through this alone. A person or several people will show up to help you along with this. I was lucky I had several people. Maria, you are special, because you showed up first. We first met just as Saturn entered my 10th.
During this time, I also discovered THE SECRET. I know that this book/DVD is the topic du jour and what is in THE SECRET is not new, but it gave me hope to push on. The one thing that THE SECRET taught me was to trust my intuition and my feelings.
The next thing you have to consider is how is Saturn aspecting your natal chart. I have a fixed T-Square effecting my 2nd, 8th, 10th, and 11th house. My lessons were about career, my money, gifts , talents and other people’s money. The planets involved are my Mars (2nd), Jupiter (8th), Sun (11th), and Pluto (10th). I also have my Moon and Mercury in (10th). When Saturn hit my first planet, the Moon I became emotional involved with my cosmic assignment and it was so awesome I wondered if I could do it. Saturn traveled over my Mercury and I finished that transit without too much difficulty.
When Saturn hit my T-Square in October 2006, that is when I began to really feel the effects. Saturn hit all my planets in the T-Square, got close to hitting the Sun. In December, Saturn went RX and hit my Mars, Pluto again, ending with my Jupiter. In April, Saturn went direct hitting these planets again and in July, I got the big one-Saturn conjunct Sun. During this time, I have had car repairs up the nose, my cable shut off, been threaten with both my gas and phone shut off, cell phone disconnected. I was working a temporary job in a company that I felt drained all my energy.
But, I got the greatest growth the last time. In the temporary job, I learned a new job skill. The car repairs were a blessing in disguise as they kept me at the job to learn this skill and gain experience. When Saturn conjunct my Sun, I was let go. Graduation, perhaps? Reviewing my resume, I discovered that now I have the experience needed for a new job. I also found my true vocation, which is on a separate track.
The day I was let go, I received a shut off notice from the Gas Company and my phone didn’t work. But I got a grant to pay off a good chunk of the gas bill and received a break on my rent. Unemployment came through so if I am careful, I’m fine.
Needless to say, the impact on my 2nd and 8th house was great. But there I have lessons to learn. I learned from another Saturn guide, my cosmic brother, Robert Redford (we were born on August 18th) never to work for money again.
I learned that other people’s money is available to me if I am willing to look for it. I found out that I don’t need credit cards to survive. I found out that I have everything I need right now. I examine every purchase before making it. I also discovered I got what I really wanted and if it isn’t here yet, it is on the way. I also discovered my greatest gift, which was writing.
Dear Virgo, I hope you use this time to your best advantage. If this is the first time that Saturn conjunctions your sun, don't worry you will be fine. One of my favorite quotes is good time don't last forever, but neither do the rough times.
Maria-now where is my reward?
Warmest Regards,
Helen Reading
Dear Helen - It is coming. Be patient! I know that is not a Leo virtue but you have learned to be very patient over the past two years with Saturn in your sign. But I can assure you that your reward will come! Maria |

COSMIC SENSE: Our Unconscious Connection to the Universe
Date: 2007-07-23 By: Marguerite Manning
Wouldn’t you agree that not a day goes by that each and every one of us isn’t forced to rely on that one thing everyone says we were born with-good old common sense? Well, I believe that we were all born with something even more important, something each and every one of us should be relying on a lot more than we do-our twice as good, and even older, cosmic sense.
It’s true. While common sense is the good judgment we’ve learned to develop by living in this practical world, cosmic sense is the incredible insight our soul couldn’t help but develop while struggling to evolve in the spiritual one. Think of it as that remarkable sense of deeper understanding that only comes to us through our higher awareness. When we use it, we’re able to make sense of the cosmos and our place in it because when we apply it, we’re actually taking our common sensibilities to the next level. The highest level. Our spiritual level. The only level that gives us direct human access to all the universal know-how that we could possibly need to fulfill our earthly destiny. Why? Because it’s the same level of hard-earned spiritual savvy that’s now available to our soul for fulfilling it’s own chosen universal purpose. Yes, chosen, because based on the wisdom of our ancient astrologers (who, fortunately for us, had enough cosmic sense of their own) "by choice" is exactly how we humans come into this earthly existence. What’s more, because our soul does the actual choosing before we do, that’s exactly why those choices are celestially reflected in the astrological energies of our own natal sky once we get here. This is to remind our unconscious soul of its earthly purpose by bringing every one of those choices into our conscious awareness. Not a moment too soon, either, because with our very first human breath they become our earthly promises, the ones that we were literally born under so that our soul could be physically born into. Good to know, especially since, in this particular lifetime, we’re the ones who have to live up them.
Is it any wonder then why the ancients proclaimed that our destiny was "written in the stars"? Universally speaking it is, but only because astrologically speaking (or, by applying your cosmic sense) that’s precisely what the energies in our natal sky reflect: our very own universal endorsement to be great and shine bright in this lifetime. Really. But that’s only if our soul keeps it’s cosmic commitment to aim higher and do better than it did in the last one. So, yes, of course, our birth energies reveal just how and where we’re destined to succeed down here in the material world. What they’re really up there illuminating is our soul’s promise to evolve in the spiritual one. If our soul makes good on its commitment, the universe makes good on its endorsement. Evidently, our fate here on terra firma is a lot less predetermined than we’ve been led to believe because when we view our natal sky from this perspective it’s a lot more than just a celestial reflection of our earthly destiny. It’s a universal documentation of the agreement we made to live up to it. An agreement the ancients called a horoscope, but based on their scientific principles I prefer to call our very own "contract with the universe."
Now before you start thinking you’re not ready to embrace the science of our first astrologers, think again. These ancient stargazers had cosmic game. After all, they were not only our very first astronomers, they were the very first scholars to achieve that lofty status. That’s because they were also the first scientists to devote their dreary lives to the selfless study and mind-numbing observation of the even drearier universe in which they lived. Unlike our astronomers today, they practiced astronomy and astrology as one comprehensive science because, while they knew our existence on this planet was designed to be depressingly physical, after years spent doing the medieval math, they were equally convinced that the universe we inhabited was more than just one-dimensional. In their primitive world, how could they know? In their line of work, how could they not? As professional astronomers they not only studied the heavens to discover how celestial objects moved and the universe worked as a whole; as equally professional astrologers (a job that was in many ways more difficult and in every way more mathematical) they analyzed those findings to determine how those movements affected all of us down below. "All of us" meaning our minds, bodies, and souls. In fact, for that reason (and despite the political correctness and religious pressures of their time-and there were many) these seasoned sky watchers were among the first to adopt the principle that ours was a multi-leveled universe made up of nothing but well-ordered energy. Talk about impressive! But, while this kind of thinking puts them clearly ahead of their own time, it’s not what puts them ahead of ours. This does: in their professional opinion, in this particular universe, all of that well-ordered energy was divine, and (wait for it) one of the levels it operated on was spiritual.
This is where things go from impressive to amazing, because this means that by embracing these very basic principles, these very basic stargazers not only managed to subscribe to the theory that everything in this universe consisted of energy, but they collectively concluded that all energy within this universe was powerfully creative, infinitely connected, and traveled on its own frequency. To their way of thinking, mental energy vibrated on the intellectual level; body energy vibrated on the physical level; and the eternal part of anything, or the "soul," vibrated on yet another level. A level, incidentally, that today’s "hard" scientists still refuse to acknowledge as being a scientific one: the spiritual level. And while we all know that just about every scientist today embraces the concept that all energy is connected, these very best minds of yesterday were the first, and in many cases the only, to officially acknowledge all of the levels in our particular time-space continuum that were necessary to actually connect it. They had no choice. To them, a universe could only be "divine" if it was available to all energy on all levels. If ours was a divine universe (which they decided it was, based on the way they determined it functioned) then it had to be available to the mind, body, and soul of everything that vibrated to it and, therefore, existed in it. A category, by the way, that included us. All of us. Therefore, it had to be a universe in which mental, physical and spiritual energy flowed continuously, harmoniously and circularly-a universe where the physical science of astronomy included the spiritual reality of astrology. It was that simple, because to them it was just science. But here’s the amazing part: according to the Universal Laws of Divine Order, that concept still is.
And that means everything to an astrologer, as it also should to all who aren’t, because when it comes to the principles of Universal Law, a multi-leveled universe of divine energy means two very significant things to all of us. First, it means everything in this universe is energy, including us. Second, all energy within this universe always moves in a circular pattern for one very important reason: divine order is only achieved by maintaining divine balance. So then according to the first principle, in this universe, every one of our human thoughts, feelings, words and actions are all individual forms of universal energy. That being the case, then according to the second principle, when our bodies put these energies out on one level in this incarnation (the physical level), they are forced to continue on in that divine circular pattern and come back to us through the spirit of our soul on the next level (the spiritual one). They have to, every one of them, good, bad or fattening. Not because, as most of us were taught to believe, the wrath of God is punishing us, but because (and think about this for a minute) as universal law would have it, the divine order of the cosmos is just balancing itself. What goes around must come around. Yes, it’s that simple, because in a multi-leveled universe of divine energy, it’s just science. Of course, in the beginning, when all universal levels were present and accounted for, our science was also that spiritual, which is exactly why our ancient astronomers were among the first to get it. (It’s also exactly why most astrologers, like myself, won’t analyze a birth chart without implementing it). Human actions have spiritual consequences.
If this sounds a lot like karma to you that’s only because, as I explain in my book Cosmic Karma: Understanding Your Contract with the Universe, that’s what the Universal Law of Compensation is: nothing more than the spiritual version of cause and effect. In fact, as far as I’m concerned, nothing less than the same principle practiced in just about every religion known to man. Good, old-fashioned accountably for the soul. So why is that? Why is such a proven scientific principle like cause and effect such a fundamental part of most religious teachings? As interesting a question as that is, the really interesting question to me is, why not? Why isn’t the development of our soul considered a recognized field of scientific study? It is when it comes to any field that involves the development of our minds or bodies. So then, why not the soul? After all, if spirit is the highest intellectual dimension, as many believe it is, wouldn’t the wonderful world of science in general, and the field of astronomy in particular, be better off if this overlooked dimension were invited to the cosmic party? Wouldn’t it be a more interesting party? At the very least, wouldn’t it be a more stimulating one?
I think so. But then, I’m someone whose life and belief system were as much transformed by the readings of the psychic Edgar Cayce as they were by the writings of the astronomer Carl Sagan. And while I have Sagan to thank for my life-long passion for the stars above, it was actually Cayce who furthered that zeal by instilling in me a life-changing passion for the spirit within. Through the work, words, and wisdom of these two enlightened souls I learned that physical science and the immortal spirit are not mutually exclusive. Through their separate and distinct philosophies, I came to adopt one of my own: that science and spirit only work divinely when they work together. That’s because in this universe, our spiritual reality is a fundamental part of our physical actuality. As spiritual beings having a mental experience in this physical world, I came to realize that we are not relevant to this universe without either the science that got us here or the soul that keeps us coming back. The even bigger epiphany for me, however, is that here on planet earth, neither one of them is relevant to us without the other.
But then, as I learned from the best ancient minds in the stargazing business, in a divine universe, it’s just a matter of cosmic sense.
