Which of the zodiac signs will be the luckiest this year? Which will find love? What sign will face more challenges and tests? I will also offer predictions for the local economy for the year ahead; including the state of Michigan, which may continue to see a downturn in housing prices. Three years ago, I made the prediction of the fall of the housing market at my lecture in Lapeer. Many of you were there and may remember. I also spoke in Lansing of the re-election of George W. Bush, rise in gas prices as well as celebrity predictions that have come to pass. As a fair guest, you will also get a chance to ask questions about your personal future during the lecture too.
From a numerology standpoint 2008 is a #1 Year. The number 2008 reduces down to number one (2+0+0+8= 10....10 - 1+0=1). A number one year means new beginnings on a personal and worldwide level. Many of us will begin a new phrase. New businesses can be expected to open. There will be new growth in many areas of the country because there needs to be. It's out with the old and in with the new, like never before. Personally, many of you will be starting at least one new project, relationship, etc. in the new year.
And as a sneak peak into your annual popular lecture, I will tell you that Cancer-born folks can expect to be the luckiest in love. But that's all I'm saying. To find out more, you have to come to the free presentation.

Aries - 2008 is filled with opportunity for career advancements. This is the year for Rams to open a business, get a promotion, move up the ladder and even change careers. All that you have been working for since 2004 has a chance to pay off. You may have several job options to choose from. The best times for career change are January through mid May and again after Labor Day though early 2009. Even though you will have good luck on the job front, your troubles for 2008 lie in the area of co worker relationships. You could incite jealousy on your climb to success. Or it may be that you are put in charge of a bunch of imbeciles! Who knows for sure? But one thing is certain; you will have to work around personality conflicts with peers. Watch for extra stress that could turn into health irritations too. It's a decent year for weight loss though, especially if you set goals and have a work out routine in place.

Taurus - The year ahead is favorable for Bulls as Jupiter, the planet of good luck, is in a fellow earth sign in 2008 (Capricorn). There will be some blessings and opportunities. And while they all may not drop directly into your lap, they will presents themselves. It's up to you to decide if you wish to go after these opportunities or merely let them pass by. Most of your luck this year falls in the 9th house of your solar astrology chart. This means opportunity to travel abroad may come up. You have great aspects to go back to school, take development courses and attend conferences for educational, career and/or spiritual development. You also have good legal aspects so if you must appear in court for something or are preparing important papers, you can expect things to run better than expected. Problems arise with risky investments so you are advised to stay with the tried and true dealings, especially stock market investments, etc. This is not a favorable year to gamble. If you're planning a trip to Vegas, visit the buffets tables rather than the blackjack tables. Also, there is a chance that you may have more concerns for one of your children if you have any. They may be going through some extra stress in the year ahead or such a relationships may be strained. Overall, 2008 should be a decent year for many Taurus unless something in their personal natal chart is afflicted.

Gemini - The good news for Gemini in the new year is that they have a chance to pay down debt and/or get money from new sources. If you're born under the sign of the Twins, your partner may see an increase in their income, you could meet a millionaire or a new partnership may develop with someone who will benefit you financially. 2008 would be a good year to save a bundle on insurances costs. Shop around and I bet you'll be able to snag a better deal on current interest rates on your credit cards and even car and health insurance. Need a loan? You'll be able to get one. If anyone owes you money, this is the year to collect on that debt or that bet! Also, during cycles like this, I have seen clients make a solid effort to pay off their bills and many have; feeling better about their financial situation in years. Also, this is a good period to receive bonuses and perks on the job front. The problem areas? Many Gemini will feel tired, as if they have little energy. This is not something that will last all year long but many born in late May are already feeling low vitality due to Saturn squaring their sun sign. It would be best to rest and not push yourself when you feel like this. Also other people could easily irritate you this year. Your patience wears thin. There may be a strong urge to move and put down roots somewhere new for many Gemini. Others will be fixing up their current homes. Some Gemini will be concerned for an older relative, maybe a parent and at the same time, perhaps a younger person in the family too. It may be hard to sell a home this year if you are Gemini.

Cancer - Cupid comes to visit you all year long! 2008 will be a super year for love. Whether you are single and shopping or attached to a lover already, most Cancerian relationships will be full of happy endings. If you are a Cancer in a dead end relationship, you could end it easier this year and have not much trouble meeting someone new that will rock your world. If married, you and your mate could grow closer and make many happy memories. But a word of warning; this is also a big year for Crabs to have an affair! So what if you are flying solo? Leo - 2008 ushers in a time for you to get your life in order...and it's easily done. You'll have plenty of help from others in almost anything you hope to accomplish. You can multi-task like no other this year. If you work in a service industry field, you can expect great luck on the job front. It'll be easy to enjoy your job because the people who you work with, will seem like family. If by chance, there are any issues with co workers, they can be resolved this year in amicable fashion. Your health looks good and if your physical self needs more TLC, it's easier to access optimum healing energies more than ever. An ex lover may come back that you will be more than happy to see. You get a second chance at an old relationship if you want to take it. Some Lions may be getting a new pet too. Any type of work that you do with groups or for the betterment of society, expands and thrives. This is a great year to set some realistic goals and put together a game plan. The universe is on your side, helping to make goals reachable. There are challenges and lessons regarding money and financial situation however. Virgo - 2008 has all the makings to be a good year for Virgo in the area of children, romance and fun. With lucky Jupiter in the 5th house of fun, Virgos will be looking for relief from Saturn's heavy hand (since September 7 2007) while making a point to put some fun in their lives. First of all, if you are a Virgo, hoping to expand your family, 2008 could be the perfect year to welcome a child into the world. If you already have kids, your relationship with them become more meaningful than ever. Some Virgos but not all, may see a gain through their investments and maybe even enjoy some winnings at a casino. For single Virgo, it is a fine time to meet a romantic partner. Libra - 2008 bodes well for real estate matters for most Libra. All across the country, except in a few pockets, the housing marketing is in crisis. With foreclosures, folks trying to sell their homes and losses in real estate value, most people cannot easily sell property now. However, lucky Libras just might. With fortunate Jupiter visiting the solar 4th house of home, family and real estate, Libra will be especially lucky in these areas. If you are hoping to move, buy, sell, remodel, etc., consider 2008 your year to do so. If you are hoping to expand your family this is also a fortunate time. The challenge Libra face in the year ahead is the past coming back to haunt them. Old relationships or issues that you figured were a done deal, may pop back into your life. Also be careful of who you place your trust in, as there may be someone working behind the scenes to thwart your efforts. Overall, you can expect support from family members and the opportunity to make your dream home happen. Those Libra wanting to move, have a better chance to do so in 2008 than in over 10 years.

Scorpio - Most of your luck comes from a solar chart highlighting 3rd House issues which include short trips, buying a new car, good relationships with siblings and neighbors, strong communications skills and opportunities to do expand creativity. You may feel as if you are on the "run" all of the time. You probably are but will enjoy it. Short trips are fun and favored; like traveling out of town for the weekend or a quick plane ride somewhere for a few days. When I had this aspect years ago, I took twelve short trips throughout the year. Granted some of them were just a few hours away, but nonetheless, they were a welcome break from a hectic schedule and provided me with a change of scenery every so often. If you are in the market to buy a new car, you could snag a great bargain or even buy your dream car this year. Some Scorpios reading this may be in the media, sales or writing fields. If you are one of them, consider yourself extra lucky in 2008 as people will listen to what you have to say. You come across confident and cool. This is a wonderful year to write a book or pitch a new idea. Challenges occur in the area of friendships; some of which may be tested. Sagittarius - 2008 is gearing up to a fortunate money year for many Archers. In fact, it could be one of the biggest and best you have had in years. Count your blessings and be open to many more. Granted, 2008 is also a year you could overspend but it is likely you will have money in your account (or coming) to cover your expenditures. Ask for a raise. Raise your prices. Go after your dreams. Your luckiest cycles for money are now through mid May and again in the Fall of 2008 and early Winter. You could find yourself overspending in the summer time. When I was in this cycle, my income rose to new heights I had never seen before. But it is important that you seize this cosmic energy and work with it. If you just sit back and do nothing about expanding your financial situations, little may come. Have a game plan and get moving. This type of good luck doesn't come around except every 12 years. Your challenges this year will be in the workplace. However, these tests may also lead to wonderful opportunities if you handle them correctly. Some Sagittarius will have problems on the job, pushing them to look elsewhere for career fulfillment. Others will be given lots of responsibility but also achieve a great deal. Capricorn - Consider yourself the luckiest of all the zodiac signs this year. Jupiter, the planet of abundance and good fortune, visits each sign every 12 years. 2008 is your turn for Jupiter to pay a call. Get ready because you can achieve almost anything your heart desires this year, if of course, it is for your highest good. Don't be afraid to take more risks this year and think out of the box. Aquarius - You'll have an extra guardian angel looking over your shoulder this year. You may not see all of the support you have but it is there. 2008 is a year filled with hidden support. People are talking good about you behind your back. If anyone were to put you down, someone would be there to intervene on your behalf. Also, people from your past may waltz back into your life. Pisces - Fish will find their luck falls within their friendship circles. It's who you know that will help you get ahead in 2008. Cleaning your Sacred Spaces to Get Ready for the New Year
As you prepare for the new year, you should also get rid of old, unnecessary, useless and sometimes negative energy from the past year. Our homes, office space, etc, fill with energy that we and others create by spending time and interacting in these places. Healers, metaphysicians and spiritually inclined folks cleanse their spaces on a regular basis and many of them use Sage to do this. I recommend that everyone do this at least once when the new year rolls around. You would not want old energies, thoughts, etc holding you back from moving forward effortlessly into 2008. Remember as I said earlier. 2008 is a Number One Year; a time for new beginnings.
How to Sage Your Home, Office or Sacred Space
Sage is a purification herb used to cleanse a space by smudging. To smudge a room light the sage stick and then wave it back and forth a little, allowing the smoke to rise into the room. Hold a dish underneath the sage catch any falling ash.
You can say a prayer or affirmation as you smudge you’re the area you’re working on. The smoke of the stick is sometimes hard to keep smoldering so when you first light it, blow out the flame AFTER it gets going and then blow into the smoldering embers. If it does burn out, just re-light it. If you are working on a room, start at a doorway and move the smoke completely around the frame, you will repeat this in every room starting at the entry doorway to each room and the front and back doors if any.
After the doorways just go around the room to the four corners and then down the middle with a circular motion. Open closet doors and drawers before you begin. Allow the smoke get into and around everything within the area you are cleansing. Remember you want to get every nook and cranny because you want any negative energy out. You can also use this to get rid of negative spirits and entities. Ask spirit, God, your angels, etc. to help cleanse your home/space of any negativity and anything holding you back which is not for your highest good. Visualize the smoke carrying way all negative energies away. Then open your doors and windows and let outside air in to circulate and breathe fresh air into the space and negative energies to leave.
Another way to burn the smudge stick is to burn some of its loose leaves in a dish in the room you want to cleanse. You will probably notice the difference of energy within a few minutes or hours. If ever a negative person comes into your sacred space you can cleanse it again.

Pluto is going to change signs January 26th, going into the sign of Capricorn. This cycle hasn’t happened since 1762. Pluto is about death and regeneration; breaking down and rebuilding things…heavy transformation that is sometimes forced. Pluto has been in Sagittarius since November 1995, transforming our beliefs as well as our educational, medical and legal institutions. Sagittarius also rules foreign people and policy. 9/11 was a huge result of this aspect during Pluto’s transit in Sagittarius. What will Pluto in Capricorn transform? The world’s structures, especially business, government, and capitalism. Fellow astrologers Bob Mulligan and Madelyn Gerwick ask where will all of this lead? Hopefully to a planet that can be sustained, instead of destroyed by our businesses, governments, consumers, and capitalism! If this doesn’t happen between now and 2024 when Pluto moves into Aquarius, we’ll all be in big trouble. In fact it looks like we could be in big trouble sooner than that, between 2012 – 2015 when we get the radical and revolutionary energies of Uranus square Pluto. If anything can propel us in the right direction to assist the planet, Gerwick says, it’ll be that cycle, when revolutions will be the order of the day. She’s not talking about revolutions that occur with guns but rather about a revolution in our consciousness. That’s the only thing that can save this planet and our lives, along with everything else that lives on Earth.
Personally, I feel with the housing crisis, job losses, etc, we have no choice but to begin to look at things from a new perspective. In hard times, we often are forced, pushed, whatever, to find our inner resources and tap into our spirituality. I believe for many of us, this will happen.
But Pluto isn’t the only planet working its wonders in the sign of Capricorn, Jupiter just moved into Capricorn on December 18th. This means the material world takes on large importance and people are more interested in social position and financial gains. We get a chance to become more organized. Large companies and corporations will either fail, reorganize and continue to firm up their policies and workforce. Yes, I am sure there is more cutbacks at GM and automotive industries in the Midwest.

Diet News for 2008
With every new year, comes new year’s resolutions. One of the most popular resolutions is to lose weight. The folks that will lose weight easiest this year are Virgos and Aries. Those that may gain are Capricorn and Leo.
