Peggy Cross Interview - Feng Shui Style
By: Terra Graves

Terra Graves: I know you do Feng Shui, what is the one thing you think people tend to not do correctly?

Peggy Cross: The first issue is not having a basic awareness of how the things in our environment affects us - the importance of beauty and functionality and comfort. After awareness, I will give you a couple of things. First, CLEAR CLUTTER whether it is physical, people, or scheduling. This opens up space for opportunity and change and clarity. For a woman the metaphor I use is putting on make up day after day without washing her face. Next, is to not understand how the Bagua works. Third, not to know how powerful their intentions are and their environment are. One of my favorite examples of this is a friend who lived in a very brown house, rectangular, brown carpet, paneling, brown leather furniture and he nicknamed it The Colon. Guess what kind of cancer he attracted.

Terra Graves: Where would someone start if they wanted to get into Feng Shui?

Peggy Cross: One thing that helped me tremendously was having a consultation when I was beginning my studies. I was given 72 things to do; two of which I disagreed with; one of which was seriously in error; most of which I did and some of which I did not. Know your own mind - if you like black and white answers study Compass School. If you prefer intuition and latitude, study BTB, or Black Hat, formally known as Black Sect Tantric Buddhist School. Plan on taking awhile. Study with different teachers. I like that Prof. Lin Yun, founder of BTB (and now in his 80's but still teaching occasionally) teaches that: 1. All schools are valid. 2. Honor your intuition. 3. Your personal chi may be stronger than something that appears inauspicious in your environment. There are many schools in this country that are offshoots of BTB. One week and one certification is not adequate (in my opinion). I have over 500 classroom hours of study. This is serious work- these are people's lives. There are no national standards at this time. I don't know where you live - I traveled primarily to CA, NY and various locations in FL to study as well as MI and CN.

Terra Graves: How long have you been a professional Feng Shui teacher?

Peggy Cross: I began consulting in 1998; teaching, lecturing and writing the next year.

Terra Graves: Did you have to do a lot of training/school to understand Feng Shui?

Peggy Cross: Yes, I think so, to really and truly see all the facets of an environment that affect our well being. Feng Shui is traditionally an oral teaching - a lot of people confuse themselves reading books because of the different schools' approaches. The introductory class I teach is 12 hours, the purpose of which is to empower a person to work with their own space and issues. This class scratches the surface. Yes, I think it takes continual attention. Feng Shui has many layers and goes very deeply into our spiritual cores as well as our mundane worldly life. In China one typically apprenticed for years. It is a combination of study, intuition, and experience, like most things. It encompasses psychology and architecture and interior design - those studies support a person in having a more thorough understanding of Feng Shui. I have found that there are "Aha's" that come along the way, at least for me, that no one teaches but that are obvious through experience.

Terra Graves: Do you have anything you want our readers to know or take with them?

Peggy Cross: Honor your intuition. If it doesn't feel right, perhaps it is not right for you. That applies to a house, people, and new clothes, among other things. Houses and people teach us lessons and that is part of Feng Shui as we are here to create the most joyful journey possible. On the other hand, colors and artwork and furniture can also symbolize an out of balance or seriously depressed personality so what a person wants around them is not for their highest good. For example, a depressed person will hang their artwork low relative to their personal height and the ceiling height of their home/office.

Terra Graves: Are you going to be at the October conference and are you teaching any classes?

Peggy Cross: Yes I will be at the October conference and yes I will be lecturing, according to how Maria sets up the schedule.

Terra Graves: How did you meet Maria Shaw?

Peggy Cross: I saw her speak at the A.R.E. here in Virginia Beach. The next morning I woke up and thought - I have to go meet Maria at her psychic fair. She will want me to travel with her. I followed my intuition.

Terra Graves: Can you tell us about some of your experiences before Maria Shaw?

Peggy Cross: I assume you are speaking of experiences related to Feng Shui. My first public talk was in Detroit in March of 1999 I think, for a government agency. I have gone to CA, MI, CN and NY to study as well as numerous locations in Florida when I lived there. (Being a tourist destination, international masters came to the Fort Lauderdale area.) I studied there with Raymond Lo on his first visit from Hong Kong. You may have seen him on the Today Show in Beijing. I have had numerous magazine articles published and appeared on radio and TV while in Florida. Teaching over the Internet, I have students thus far from Paris, Japan and Canada as well as all over the U.S. I have had more than one psychic tell me that I am supposed to travel and teach and consult. One of my most fun projects was in Marsh Harbor on Abaco in the Bahamas. I previewed space to be leased for a jewelry/art store, designed the showcases and work area and gave them their feng shui jobs to do.

Thanks Peggy for the interview it was great to get a chance to chat before October. See you soon!

You can bring your home's floor plans to the conference to consult with Peggy on ways to increase your health, happiness, love and prosperity. Be sure to check out www.mariashaw.com for the whole class line up for this year's Midland Cosmic Connection Convention!

Virgo New Moon: August 30, 2008

The New Moon in Virgo completes a cycle of three eclipses — the Leo New Moon partial solar eclipse on Aug. 1; the Leo Full Moon total lunar eclipse on Aug. 16; and the Virgo New Moon partial solar eclipse.

What happened to you during the first three weeks of August? What were your issues? These will be the things you will be dealing with for the next 2-4 weeks under this new moon energy in the sign of Virgo. For some it may be a health issue, because Virgo rules the 6th house of health. For many, the new moon/eclipse energy will have to do with the work they perform or with co worker issues. Others will have concerns over their pets and yet other folks may be dealing with old flames returning to their lives. However this new moon energy is affecting you, remember the new moon is about new beginnings and starts. What you begin to manifest now, will take hold within the next 2-4 weeks. Are you ready?

And finally, on another note, as I type this newsletter, I am sitting here in New Orleans, not able to get out of the city and waiting the arrival of Gustav. I will probably have more news on this in an update but for now, please keep everyone in your prayers in the Gulf Coast Region. Hope to see many of you this fall on our travels!
