Your last newsletter with the reprint of the article on karmic debt called "Releasing Karma" and the simple concept of basic forgiveness got me thinking.
The hardest person to forgive is myself. Especially because of that inner struggle of dualism many of us feel between our "good" and "bad" selves.
So I wondered, do I owe myself karma? Could I have lifetimes of heavy karmic debts built up against myself that imprison me that keep me trapped from advancing? Could I be stuck with me doing penance for wrongdoings to myself?
Thankful for your help and opinions.

Yes! Great letter. It resonates with many of us I am sure. Sometimes we cause our own grief and karma because we have power of free will and choice. This is a good question. I would love to hear from others as to their opinions too.

I just had to laugh when you mentioned David Cassidy - he was my first crush too, I mean there was Bobby Sherman & Donny Osmond but David was my #1 guy. I used to look forward to Friday nights after the Brady Bunch to see him; I still know all the word to "I think I love you!" The time seems like a blink on an eye doesn't it! You must be so excited to meet him. He still looks mighty fine for turning 60! I will definitely be picking up that issue. Any word on the Spaulding Inn/Ghost Hunters project? Will you be doing readings as well?

Dear Ms. Shaw,
Last year was the first year that I was able to attend your Cosmic Connection. It usually falls on one of my Army weekends and I am unable to attend. It was one of the best things that I did that year. I did a session with Tanya Douglas on a past life reading, and since then I have been able to see reasons why I do things that used to puzzle me before. I also attended the séance and was amazed by the power of the men and women that were sitting at the table. I was lucky to have one of my family member's try to contact me. When I put my finger tips on the table to ask my question, I was shocked to feel the electricity and power run from the ordinary table up into my arms. It scared me at first, but as I asked my questions, fear fell away into wonder. I could not help also to be distracted by the man with the heavy breathing in the corner that I was sitting. Although I knew that no man was sitting in my group, I could not help feeling that he was there. It was amazing. I am hoping that on this years Cosmic Connection I can join in some of the workshops and find out why I got those feelings. Although, I do have my Army weekend that weekend, I am switching my weekend this month so that I cannot only attend the Cosmic Connection, but I am taking my son on our first trip to Disney in Florida. So, I hope to see you there.

Update on Ghost Hunters Weekend with Jason and Grant
Grant called me yesterday and we talked in length about Jason and his schedule this summer. The guys are very busy with a series of books coming out and three television shows now on the air. Grant said he was hoping to be at our event at their Inn but could not make a solid commitment this summer because of the crazy schedule. They are on the road so much, traveling and doing production, their time is limited.
I invited them and their families to come and spend a week at our place on Mackinac Island and do some ghost hunting there. They may do that but for now, Grant said he doesn't have any idea when he will get a chance to get back to the Inn except around July 4th and that would only be for one day. So here's what Grant and I came up with;
a.) Joe and I could go ahead and book a ghost hunters weekend this summer at the Inn but there is no guarantee the guys could be there. They may show up at the last minute if they are in town but there are no guarantees. Joe and I would lead the seminars and classes and you all would participate in the ghost hunting at the Inn and the psychic fair, etc.
OR
b.) I wait until this November or December and see if the guy's schedule has slowed down and they are available.
I would like some feedback from anyone who would like to go on this trip. The Inn is really beautiful and haunted. It would be great fun no matter which way we planned it. But would like to get some feedback either way before I tell Grant what we are going to do.

Breaking the Myths and Misconceptions of Hypnosis

Have you ever noticed that when some one mentions one simple word it can invoke different emotion and reactions? Well that is what I get when I mention that I am a hypnotist. Generally there are three types of reactions. The first and most common is usually them saying "Oh your not hypnotizing me now are you?" Or "You going to make me cluck like a chicken?". Of course my answer is NO! Usually these reactions are followed up with curiosity, and looks of doubts after my explanation. My third reaction is "Does it really work?" The answer to that is, YES, most definitely! Questions like these and many more are quite common.
These reactions as I mentioned above do bother me. Why? For the simple reason is that hypnosis is misunderstood and made out to be this mystical state of being, or worse yet possession. Some of these misconceptions have been brought about by different reasons. The most common reason steams from TV and stage shows (which are fun and entertaining), as well as the lack of information made present for the majority of the population. This has all contributed to the people fearing what they don't know or understand. In this article I will address these questions and a few more, hoping to bring some light to the art of hypnosis and how it really works.
First of all let address the fact that hypnosis has been dated back as far as Egyptian times. In reality it has been used since man first started using drum like rhythms and or chanting in a rhythmic manor, as this an evoked a state of hypnosis. This as you know is still used today. As time went on people evolved and so did the evolution of man uses and understanding of hypnosis.
Most people connect the use of hypnosis to the ever-popular stage shows. These shows are not new concept and have been going on since the 1800's. Originally these traveling stage shows involved the use of animals. They would hypnotize many different animals ranging from small birds all the way up to large lions. Eventually these stage shows evolved into the use of people.
During these shows a hypnotist will chose a few audience members to participate in the show. These volunteer know and agree to be hypnotized. They realize at the time that they might do something that will result in humorous or even embarrassing behavior. The hypnotist will most generally take the volunteers back state. This is in preparation for their act. They conduct a "pre-hypnosis"session enabling the client to enter a state of hypnosis rapidly and on command. They then take them out on the sage and give them the command that was previously given to them back stage, to go back into a state of hypnosis. One by one he will have the participant do or say something that is out side of "normal"behavior. They can even suggest to the volunteer to forget words or numbers that are part of there every day lives as though they never existed. However embarrassing these things might be to them they still will only do something that would not compromise their values and morals. That is why some people will do more outlandish things than others, because it is something they would normally do with out being hypnotized. This is where a large portion of the stigma about hypnosis has come from.
Now this covers our first and second rule and most frequently asked questions of hypnosis. First Rule: You cannot be hypnotized by some one if you do not want to be. Second Rule: You cannot be made to do anything that is against your morals or values.
Now I will let you in on a little secret. EVEY ONE falls into a state of hypnosis on almost a daily basis. We do this when we are intently watching TV, reading a book, staring at focal point, daydreaming, and that is just to name a few. As you know these are natural normal states of being and are in no way dangerous. Being hypnotized by a hypnotist is just as safe as sleeping. And lets just say for instance that you were hypnotized and the hypnotist walked out and just left you alone. Would you stay that way forever? No! After a while you would just simply wake up.
So now we covered a few of the most common myths / concerns I hear on a regular basis. Lets move on to the next common questions and comments. Questions: "I don't think I can be hypnotized.", "I am to smart to be hypnotized!"; "Can any one be hypnotized?" I lumped these three comments together because they are very closely related. Yes, any one of average intelligence can be hypnotized. To be perfectly honest, the smarter you are, the easier it is to be hypnotized. Why do you ask? Well people of higher intelligence are able to use visualization in more detail. Hypnosis is based on visualization because that is how the subconscious communicates with our conscience mind. For instance, when I say the word tree, you instantly begin to visualize what a tree looks like. When I say the word jump, you visualize your self or some one jumping. If I said a word that does not exist in the human language, your mind is going to struggle to visualize what it looks like. This is the most basic and primal communication known to humans and this is how we relate to ourselves and to each other.
Now I am going to share with you a comment that I have had some one tell me not so long ago. This one is a bit more on the unusual side, but for these people they actually believe this occurs. Comment: "Being hypnotized opens you up and can let the devil in!". Now obviously hypnosis is not letting the devil or anything else for that matter in. It is merely a relaxed state of being. During this relaxed state you become more suggestible allowing yourself to communicate with your subconscious mind. The most common use of hypnosis is to help change negative behaviors or to obtain answers that are held with your subconscious mind. As I said these are only the two most common uses, in actuality there are many more uses.
Lastly "Can you cure anything with hypnosis?". NO. Hypnosis can help to treat a wide range of behavior, and health problems. These problems may even be eliminated with the use of hypnosis. However never stop taking any medication or consulting with a doctor. Make sure you are keeping close contact with your doctor as medications may be adjusted. Hypnosis is a wonderful addition and complement to modern medicine, and should be used for such. A good hypnotist should never make claims of curing any disorder, and should seek another hypnotist should these claims be made.
When I first attended school for hypnosis I had some of the same questions as I have listed above. Now as a hypnotist I am asked these same questions. I do this with out hesitation because with knowledge there is no room for fear. I hope I have answered a few of the questions alleviating the fear that has been associated with hypnosis for years with hopes of propelling hypnosis into yet another age of evolution.

Channeled Messages

Have you ever wondered why people have different views than you? Even members of the same family often find themselves in conflict with one another's opinions. Much of this has to do with the level of soul that one is. To my understanding, there are about ten levels of souls. Souls who are "new" tend to want to have a large amount of structure in their lives.thus find religions and views that provide that. As a soul continues to live life after life, the soul's progression advances. One starts to see a different view on people and the planet. In the area of level five, the soul is still gaining knowledge or "light" but has not seen aspects of taking care of one another or the planet. Advancing to levels nine and ten find humankind realizes the folly of war, takes an active role in preserving the planet and knows that all is connected. Knowing some of these basic concepts explains why even in families and close friends those conflicts occur.
Channeled news from the other side....
Many things are occurring at a rapid pace on the planet. Many are experiencing pain, confusion, frustrations and panic. All for a purpose of cleansing. Trust in the process. Do not allow others' drama to dis-power your essence.
Love one another...simply said and little practiced. Contemplate your lives and remember times when you did not. This is not to feel guilt. It is to be a significant awareness of how you spend your waking hours. Begin to advance the healing of the planet by healing yourself. Many of you have gained weight in order to protect yourself from what faces you. So if you allow these issues to fade away, you no longer need to protect self, correct???
The time of slighting other for whatever reason is gone. Replace this with LOVE.
Remember that all are one...you are one with every other creature on this planet. |
Angels

The deeper within we go within ourselves then we can respect and honor different aspects of our soul. Angels teach us divine truth; our truth is our purpose, and the further we travel from the truth, and the further we travel from our soul.
What is an Angel?-Simply put; an Angel is to God; what a ray of sunshine is to the sun. Angels are beings of pure love and light. Angelic energy is beautiful, warm, comforting and gentle. You will be overwhelmed by the heavenly feelings of love that the Angels bring you. Their love is unconditional and they open your heart to finding true love for yourself and others. Their energy is of pure Love and Light and is soft and gentle and extremely peaceful; yet they are very powerful, showing us that the power of love is the strongest there is. You will never be afraid or distressed by the presence of an angel
There is a Guardian Angel for each person in existence on this earthly plane; this is our Angel of birth, our Angel of Death. Helping us to pass into each existence on this earth plane each time we choose to come here; helping us to transcend and break the chains of karma so we can all evolve together in peace and in harmony. At the moment; the moment when we cross into this existence, the Angel is then bound by a Universal Law that states; "No Angel shall interfere in a human life until asked"(unless it is life threatening). So you see; each Angel must wait until we ask for help. They will hear our cries and they will help but they will not do the work for us. They will push us in the right direction and open doors for us.
The Angelic vibration is very high and time does not exist for them. They travel to our past and to the future and they can travel around the world in mere seconds; the blink of an eye.
There are tell tale signs as to when an Angel has passed by. You will always know if they are near because of the sense of blissful love, overwhelming unconditional love. You may see a flash of light, or hear an Angelic tone, which is like a high pitch, soft, beautiful song. They sing the song of peace. If you ever see a white feather it is a sign that they are near you, they are always letting us know they are near, but are we paying attention to them? The Angels are always showing us signs and answers to the questions that we seek.
The hardest part of my job is to tell people that their loved one who has passed is not an Angel; they may be a guardian watching over them; but they are not Angels, Angels and the human soul are of a different energy.
So what then are these energies around us that are so different; why are they here?
In these troubled times of the planet many Angels have come to help. Some are incarnated and born here so that they may learn during the growth process. Others may appear when we need them the most. And some have appeared here from other star planets. On this planet we see the special children called "Indigo"and "Crystal"; also here for a significant purpose.
Incarnated Elementals have taken precedence here on the planet; they are Angels of the Earth; Faeries, Sprites; leprechauns; gnomes; and brownies. They exist here on the planet solely for the plants and animals. To protect them and to save them from harm; this is a very complicated thing for these small beings to do during this our most difficult millennium. Earth is a very violent planet and these beings are not used to such hostility so we are seeing a very different energy emerge.
Lately in the last millennium we have seen more of these energies arriving. Many Angels have 'walked in'to souls that are having a hard time living on the planet; they do not want to be here any more and are seeking an exit point. These Walk ~In Angels need to be here immediately. A walk in will come to this planet when a soul is in distressed. This transition will happen over a period of time....
For me this journey began when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer the first time. During a period of about two years and more cancer, my body went through drastic changes and upheavals. This was the beginning of the transitions of the angelic soul and the existing soul. Through a series of trials and the permission of both souls the transition will take place. When the agreement took place many changes happened in my life. I changed my name, moved and made some major decisions in my life. It was through these changes and illnesses that I decided that I needed to take a more spiritual approach. I took Reiki and within six months I discovered the messages with the Angelic realm became stronger. Messages and enlightenment became stronger and brighter. I was in a place of knowing and going to a place that is unlike that I had ever known. I lost all recollection of the childhood that once was. My biggest challenge was to discover how to get my message across to others; and others to believe my messages. I became the teacher instead of the student.
Living in this physical realm is difficult and everyday as I pass through the realms, as enlightening as it is it has taken its toll on my physical self. The Universe takes care of my emotional and my spiritual self; the physical self is much more difficult. Each day; I discover an enlightened side of the human spirit. The physical self needs constant grounding and centering to stay focused. As a result I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease; a dis ease that affects the endocrine system and more importantly the adrenal glands; leaving me constantly tired and with low blood pressure.
I know that this is only my cross to bear living in the physical; and nothing though can be compared to the enlightenment of wisdom that I receive and am able to share everyday; the knowledge and the wisdom that I give to those whose lives I touch each day.

How many times when you were a child were you asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" How many times have you asked that of a child? What sort of answers did you get? Often we hear astronaut, doctor, teacher, police officer, or firefighter. We acknowledge that answer and affirm that indeed he/she CAN be that. We tell our children to believe in themselves and their dream(s). We encourage it, and sometimes even in play allow them to be that which they most desire. Our children or we as a child fully believe and immerse in the reality that "I AM a princess", "I AM an artist". For them it is simply fact. So, why did we lose that? When as adults did we go away from affirming and co-creating what we can be to merely living what we are? If we didn't have the "I can't", "It's not practical", or "That's for someone else" holding us down, what could we be? We need to stop being just what we are, and start being what we can. It's high time we owned our dreams again. Get out that Intention/Law of Attraction box and write down the person you want to be without limits. Write "I will be healthier", "I will be happier", "I will be more creative", "I will go back to school", etc. If you know your dream job, WRITE IT! Then believe, every day, each day that you are making it real. The sky is the limit for your higher self's aspirations. So, today dear Starscopers, I ask you, who can YOU be without limits?

Do any of you remember a few months back or perhaps at one of my lectures or on one of my radio shows, I predicted 2010 would be the biggest year for divorce in ages and we would see it in Hollywood first. In the past three months, so many celebs have filed for divorce or separated that is making my head spin. Most recently Leo Sandra Bullock and her allegedly cheating Aries husband Jesse James made headlines. I also predicted Aries would be hit the hardest in divorce suits too above all the other zodiac signs. This cosmic influence is partially due to the challenging karmic planet Saturn visiting the sign of Libra for the next two years, which rules partnerships and marriage. For every negative, there is a positive side of the coin. I would like to tell that side of the story too. Saturn in Libra makes you work hard on your relationships; so hard sometimes, you wonder if it is even worth it. You may not think you are making much progress in the game of love, but the universe is keeping score. At the end of this saturn cycle close to 2012, your troubles disappear and any relationship that is MEANT to last, will still be standing and stronger than ever! Your efforts will then bear fruit but you will feel as if you are working very hard now. From mid April to September, you get a reprieve as Saturn moves back into the sign of Virgo for a few months. This will give those of you working on romance, a chance to breathe a little. Step back and look at what changes you need to make as well as those of your partner's for success. Take a look from a fresh and perhaps different perspective during this period. Take a breather. Do a time out. The cosmos will give you a break to do this. You'll probably find a new approach and a new way to do things. In addition you can make a solid decision to leave or stay during this period. Come September, you can take action on your decision. Just know that whatever choices you make, the result will be clear closer to 2012. Also know, that even if you don't feel you are making progress, you really are. The universe is the scorekeeper. Your good deeds, patience, unconditional love and ability to make those hard decisions in life, are not going unnoticed. Rewards come a little less than two years from now but they are coming!
