Nice Letters We Get

I just reread your last Starscope update and read the part about this past Sundays full moon being about endings. As painful as it is, my ending is that my family has hit bottom on our finances. The realization hit that we may have to default on our mortgage and stop making payments. The typical reaction would be to rail and wail and be horribly angry at the Universe, God, anybody, but not myself. The light came on yesterday when I sat pouring over our financials and accounts and truth stared back at me. No we had not lived extravagantly or bought everything and anything we wanted, but we had lived without care or control and had squandered the resources that we had been blessed with. Yes we paid our bills, on time, regularly, and have great credit. But that just made us feel like we were still in control. I had to look even further, deeper into the darkness of truth to see more truth. I was finally able to be big enough to see and accept and know my part in our situation. How I had spent what I thought were necessary and even small purchases here and there, but if done regularly and without paying attention, cause havoc. The most horrible thing about it is, I had many many opportunities given by God and the Universe, to see and accept responsibility for what I was doing, and my irresponsibility toward the wonderful resources and blessings poured out. We would see things getting worse, have big talks about things needing to change, how we needed to sacrifice and have more control, and of course it would last weeks, not probably even months and we(I) would be back to the same habits and behaviors. Its funny as I sit hear writing this I laugh thinking, was it worth it, we don’t have any big fancy house, or living space, or lavish lifestyle to show for it. No, all the uncontrolled spending, a little bit here and there has become a landslide that will affect us in huge ways. Part of me is glad that I am able to really see my role, my choices and my responsibility in all of it, but another part is very ashamed, sad, and guilty for what I have done to my husband and daughter and how they will be affected. The challenge ahead is not to just change habits, behaviors and choices regarding how we live and spend the resources we are given, but to take the lesson and allow it to move me, and my family forward in whatever the Divine purpose and plan for us is. I know the God is benevolent, and loves showering his children with blessings and abundance, but I now know that if there is not true appreciation along with wisdom toward the blessings, they may not be wasted on you. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, for there is much to be thankful for, always, Maggie
