Maria – You said in one of your lectures I attended that we could use your moon calendar to plan a successful diet. Can you shed more light on this as I am working on dropping 50 pounds this year! Thank you, Teresa
Hi Teresa-
Yes, my moon calendar will help you with choosing the best dates to go on diet and also stick to one.
First of all, it is good to start your diet on a new moon. If you can stick to it until the full moon, two weeks later, then you will have kicked some bad habits and will probably see some immediate success. Also try to begin a diet (if you can't on a new moon) on a day the moon is in Virgo, which rules health. Make up lists and keep a food journal. The calendar will tell you which days the moon is in Virgo each month.
Watch out for the full moons, as this is a time when you are most apt to cheat or binge as emotions run high; three days prior and after the full moon. We usually overeat emotionally then. Plan to keep a busy schedule and be aware. Forearmed in forewarned.
Also do not start a diet on mercury retrograde, as you will probably not stick to it. These are listed as well.
There are certain moon days that work best for each sign to start a diet. I have listed these below. Read your rising sign as well for even more accuracy. Find the moon days in the calendar that correspond to the moon sign next to your zodiac sign/rising sign and start your diet then.
Aries – Start on Virgo moon days
Taurus – Start on Libra moon days
Gemini – Scorpio moon
Cancer – Sagittarius Moon
Leo – Capricorn Moon
Virgo – Aquarius Moon
Libra – Pisces Moon
Scorpio – Aries Moon
Sagittarius – Taurus Moon
Capricorn – Gemini Moon
Aquarius- Cancer Moon
Pisces – Leo Moon
Also for everyone; no matter what sign you are, we are more apt to overeat and break out diets when the moon is traveling through a water sign such as Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio. Mark these days in your calendar as you could overeat because you are more emotional. On Pisces Moon days, boundaries seem to loosen.
Don't get down on yourself if you get off track, get back on track immediately.
Many of you have the 2011 Moon Calendar and it has many activities to do based on what sign the moon is in. Follow it and you'll be a step ahead and things run much smoother. If you don't have the calendar you can always order from my website store.

Astro News - Valentine's Day Forecast
This Valentine's Day the moon will go into the sentimental sign of Cancer at 12:48a.m. EST. The mood of the day will be romantic, perhaps family oriented, sentimental, nurturing and loving. This is the perfect time to connect with people from your past too. Folks will be more emotional than usual too. It could be a very mushy Valentine's Day! People are apt to cook a romantic dinner at home although favorite places that serve comfort food and "over the top" desserts will be favorites this year.
On the 18th, we have a full moon in Leo at 3:36a.m. EST so things you have started early February should come to pass. It's also a great time to gamble and go shopping. More deals and sales can be had on the Full Moon in Leo than any other time!
The same day the sun goes into Pisces so we will all head into a dreamy time. The month ahead we will want to escape! So it's a perfect time to plan a vacation getaway, especially to places on or near the water. Florida, which is a Pisces state, sees a boom in tourism every late February and March when the Sun is highlighted/transits their astro chart. Traditionally this is the period for spring break too so it makes perfect sense.

A piece written by our talented reader Christopher Castro:
Loves Evolution; the Abyss
I have been away from the pen and the paper but I am back in my Imagination Lab. I found that I have a better chance at flushing Love and God out into the open by speaking with others. And so now I am once again sitting on your ears with a polished trumpet of words from a journey that stretched my eyes to see the evening fire.
The journey did not begin that way as I surrendered my heart to souls who had fallen into the dark chasm. I was there once, a dark world where I desperately tried to claw my way out by latching on to the edges of a room I later called The Abyss. This is the place where we find out who we really are and who we belong too. It is a place that harbors the sweet voices of fear and love. Their nourishing touch is as real as silk across the skin.
It is here that we are vulnerable but it is here that we discover our purpose and learn the meaning of our suffering so that we can emerge from it transformed. The Abyss is a place we must all prepare for because this year will demand that we leap into the darkness and emerge from it transformed.
The Abyss Part 1
Since childhood I always knew that everyone had this ability to create. It all begins with creating love. If one could create such a thing as love than creating an entire universe should be easy. But in creating love then we must also have the magic to create its dichotomy, fear. But like all, at least to some degree we experience a creative leak in which fear affects the tender vision of our beautiful hearts. When we lose our ability to create we lose our ability to create love. During my time off I challenged myself to speak on the matter of emotional blocks and creative leaks. The two, if joined can and will become a poisonous gas (D/2 = Depression).
Depression is nothing more than a period of mourning. It is temporary loss not a condition. Sitting across from woman I will name Janet, it became clear that she not only committed to depression but owned it, accepted it as if it were a part of her biological structure. The sadness in her eyes matched the sadness in my heart. Her world was thrown into a spiral of special effects with disorienting emotions attached. (Like watching 3-D upside down)
"It is time for you to mourn the loss. It is okay to cry in this moment. Honor the depression and slowly rise from the abyss. You are here for one reason, to emerge from it as a new dragon." My words were soft but its texture was rough. We remained in silence for several minutes as the tears paced down changing colors as they did from a grayish hint to clear crystals. We hugged and she thanked me. She is doing better, stopped taking anti-depressants and is going back to school. Her renewal is still undergoing its freedom so to say she is a hostage or a hostess is still tangible upon her choice but as of this writing her wings are budding. They emit an orange glow and I don't know what that represents but it is very playful.
But the journey doesn't stop there, not for me at least because the Abyss is something real. Unfortunately or fortunately the Abyss exists inside all of us. Depression, loss of creation or even the childlike play of our souls if lost within this abyss can overwhelm our defenses. The hidden insecurities will surface and bring us to the face the fact that we are in a human shell and vulnerable to the cold rain. It doesn't take much to find us within the darkness. This special year as I have been told will lead us to question our focus, our skepticism, our jaded thinking and our self-doubt. This year will challenge the way we love and the way we see our work environment.
Already I have experienced the surgical power of energy flashing inside of my own body. The ability to stay calm is difficult when you find yourself around people who don't realize that there is more to life than waking up and going to sleep. But for the others, the ones who can emerge from the abyss may begin to see the world through a kaleidoscope of swirling colors. As I emerged from it five years ago it is only now that my eyes have become accustomed to the light.
It is important that when loneliness creeps in that you acknowledge that this phase will pass because at the other end is the reconnection to the shunted side of your soul; I call this the Dragon Side. If we can catch and understand our emotions early on it will guide us to understand the journey of peace. Fearing the abyss is why people never begin a new love or a new job, a new way of thinking or a new way of seeing.
The abyss goes much deeper than this. It effects everyone different but with a similar result, confusions and fear. But you are not alone. Together we can take the steps to transform ourselves and live a true life, which can only begin when change occurs.
In Love;
Christopher Lawrence Castro |
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and especially my Valentine, Joe.
