We are very excited about our Saginaw Michigan Cosmic Connections Convention this October 21-23, because the entire weekend is a Psychic Development Weekend. Your Karma and Past Lives Revealed in your Birth Chart

Your astrology chart reveals your future but it also reveals your past. So many of us are interested in learning more about our past lives and our karmic connections with important people in our lives. We want to who our soul mates are and what we are supposed to learn from there in our current lifetime.

Anyone that books a consultation with me knows that I am going to delve a little bit into their past life issues to see how they are affecting their current situation. Often past fears, phobias, etc. will affect the outcome and decisions they may make in their future.

I believe if you can understand the past, you can heal and move forward in the future. There are so many questions that are left unanswered about fears, phobias, relationships, etc. that cannot be answered unless you consider past life circumstances. Looking at your astrological chart's aspects that deal with former incarnations, will help us discover the karmic lessons you should be working on. The chart is also helpful in understand the roles of significant relationships; why you have drawn certain people to you and what lessons they bring to the table.

Over the years, I have developed my very own theory when reading people's charts when it comes to past life issues I have found that there are three very important lessons in a birth chart. These lessons help us discover more about our challenges and life path. Many people tell me they have no idea what they are supposed be doing with their lives. Most do not have a clue as to what their life purpose is. Your birth chart can reveal these and much more.

So, I look for these three main themes for past life lessons that the client has "brought over" to work on. The client may not be consciously aware of his lessons but once explained, often realize a significant pattern that keeps evolving throughout the years. Often times, these lessons are the most difficult things we must deal with and an area of frustration and hard work.

You all have at least three lessons and they are:

The Life Lesson/Purpose - This is usually the main theme in your chart; what you are really here to do with this life you have been given. This lesson doesn't have to be difficult. In fact, when revealed, it's as if a door opens up, allowing you to walk through and begin working on your true calling. Sometimes you can have more than one life lesson or purpose but there is usually a "main" theme.

For example, one client of mine has an aspect in her 7th house of marriage and partnerships. She is here to work on love and marriage in her current lifetime. She will draw more than one man to do this. In today's society, if someone were to be married more than three times, we would probably say "that's a lot". What is this person doing wrong? But in some cases, maybe he/she is doing nothing wrong except fulfilling their life lesson. In order to grow as a soul, maybe our client here needs to experience love and commitment several times to "get it right" through. She may need several marriages to learn from. Each partner may bring a new lesson for the soul's growth. Her birth chart will reveal to her what she was to learn from each man. When that specific lesson was over; that karma finished, the marriage may have ended. Relationships come easy for her. Even though they do not always last, the important thing to remember is that they are not supposed to until she finishes her life lesson. This woman will never be without a companion. She seems to be very lucky in attracting new relationships. She also has stated that she feels blessed by every husband she has had because she has grown so much as a person for each experience.

It was likely, that in a former lifetime, she was "all about herself". She probably did not have a balance in her life between her career and her relationship. So in this lifetime, she will learn a great deal about love and commitment. Sometimes, people who have an aspect like this client, do not have children even if they marry because their lesson is not about "home and family" but just the couple. Having children could perhaps interfere with her life lesson of focusing on solely marriage.

Another client has a strong aspect in her chart for career lessons. She will thrive and shine in her chosen profession no doubt, in this lifetime. Succeeding in a career is her life purpose. Perhaps in a former lifetime, she died before she would fulfill a career goal. So this in lifetime, her soul is coming back to complete its journey and satisfy the need to make a name for herself in the outside world.

A gentleman, who is a long time client, has a life purpose that has to do with being a teacher. He teaches third grade today. Even as a young child, this man always wanted to teach grade school. He didn't know astrologically that his life purpose was to teach but in his heart and soul, he knew from a very young age, this is what he wanted and needed to do. Teaching fulfills his soul. He probably could make more money in another profession but it's not about the money. It's about feeling fulfilled and happy. He has a good life. His financial needs are met and then some. So, in many ways, he is richer than the guy you makes millions, is under constant stress and hates his job. My client was destined to be in education and his chart confirmed just that!

The Karmic Lesson - The karmic lesson is something the soul has not finished from its most recent lifetime; usually a lesson, a relationship or a conflict. Most times, I associate this lesson with something the soul feels a strong need to complete; usually a regret that they were holding onto at the point of their former death. The soul reincarnates into the new lifetime and carries with it a "memory" of this regret or failure. Then it draws situations and people to it, to help complete the unfinished business or karma. Until the soul completes this karma, the person will feel "stuck" or as if they are constantly repeating patterns. This is usually the hardest lesson to work on because the circumstances usually produce crisis, hardships, problems and conflicts until the soul settles the karmic lesson once and for all. Not knowing what the karmic lesson is and what you need to do to deal with it, is so frustrating. You are wasting a great deal of time, going over and over the same issues. Your chart can tell you how to work through the karma and often times it will show a specific person who is assisting you with the lesson. Unknowingly, we often resist the very person who is put in our path to assist us!

A client named Lori has a karmic lesson in her chart, dealing with her family. She was born into a family that gave her nothing but trouble. Her siblings are all abusers and users but her parents expect her to do everything to keep the family together as well as accept and love these brothers and sisters even though they have cheated, lied and stole from her. Now you may ask, why would someone choose to go through this? Lori's chart showed that in a former lifetime, she abandoned her family for selfish reasons. She was the matriarch of that family, in the previous incarnation, but laid some bad karma by leaving them high and dry when they needed her the most. The family suffered greatly. Now, push the fast forward button into this lifetime and we find Lori feeling a strong need and unexplained guilt, to help these folks. She is constantly helping them despite her husband's protests. He calls her an "enabler". And she could very well be if you talked her to her therapist. Her husband can't understand why she can't see these siblings for what they truly are. But Lori feels she must help them. She has to! Her chart shows she is repaying karma. Her karmic lesson lies within her family. This area of her life has given her the most grief. And until she fulfills the karma her soul needs to finish, she will continually "be there" for them, despite her husband's complaints. She can't breakaway yet. Her soul needs to help them so it can fulfill her own karma and then move on. Lori's chart also shows when her karma will be complete and that yes, she will be able to break free from this family. It's probably when she feels that she has done all she can and is satisfied with her atonement for her sins in the previous lifetime. She is doing this as much for herself as she is for the family. Once she completes this karmic lesson, she will be free and will not have to repeat this lesson unless she creates new karma. Heaven forbid!

Knowing the difference between real karma and just being a "victim" is difficult. What's really going on? Is this crisis something we need to work through for our soul's growth? Is it a karmic lesson or just a current lifetime crisis? Again, that's where your astrology chart can give you clear, concise answers.

The Soul Lesson - This is my third theory and something as I interpret as a lesson the soul wants to learn for its spiritual growth and advancement. There is a placement in the birth chart that shows specifically what level the soul is operating at, the soul lesson itself and how best to achieve it. If you have discovered your soul purpose; which is never not based on the ego or material things, then you will feel as if you have discovered your true essence; that you have found who you really are. Many people feel at peace and start living their lives with faith, hope and love as being the essential ingredients. They start to look at life differently and feel fulfilled, complete and whole. Once you discover your soul purpose and work towards achieving it, you will not feel like you are just existing and taking up space on this planet. You will never need to ask again, "What am I supposed to do with my life?"

The soul lesson has two parts to it; what it is supposed to achieve and the other, more mundane, what it does to get to "there".

My soul lesson is to grow spiritually and be a" traveling healer". My chart shows to get to that point, I am to learn as much about spiritual and metaphysical topics as I can and then teach them to others through writing, workshops, etc. But according to my chart, I am supposed to that, not by sitting home all the time, typing away on a computer, but by getting out of the office and traveling around the world, sharing some of what I have learned with others. The knowledge I share is supposed to help other people to heal. The way I would interpret this would be someone coming to my class and using the information I teach to help them heal a relationship or a family issue or an emotional issue, etc.

I have started to fulfill my soul lesson in the past by hosting fairs and seminars and most recently, tours and trips which have educational and metaphysical classes for the guests to take part in. I feel very fulfilled with my work now and would never consider going back to work as a news reporter at my local television station. But even as I look back on my days in the newsroom, a lot of the stories I did were medical reports and stories that showed people, ways to enhance their lives. I didn't particularly enjoy covering hard news; murders and robberies, city council meetings and the like. I enjoyed the feature stories so much more; features that gave people information on how to enhance their lives in some way.

Beyond the three Past Life Lessons you are working on in this lifetime, there are many important people who you draw to you to help you to fulfill them. Consider them teachers and some will be supportive relationships. Others will be antagonistic. Some will cause you to question things. Others will offer insight and hope. But all, whether challenging or supportive, will help you on your path with these lessons. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. And teachers can appear in all shapes and sizes; good, bad and indifferent. The people who we think are our worst relationships are probably the ones that offer us the most chance for our soul's growth. We remember the good times we share but we never ever forget the "bad" times. For it's the challenges that make us stronger and help us grow spiritually as they push us farther and father along in our growth process.

Your astrological chart will tell you something about every significant person in your life and their role and lesson in yours. You can find out immediately if someone is here to be a lover or merely a friend; if someone is your teacher or a hidden enemy and how they will assist you. Also your chart will show you the karma between you and that person.

One client's boyfriend actually showed up as a past life connection in her chart and also as a hidden enemy. She could not believe it when I told her this but as time wore on; Jeanne found out that her lover of four years was indeed sabotaging her climb up the career ladder. He was not a bad guy. He sabotaged her chances for advancement so he would not lose her. He was fearful that if she got a promotion, she would move away to take the position. He was not willing to move away and was fearful they wouldn't make it through the trials of a long distance relationship. He did not tell Jeanne that he had intercepted several calls from a prestigious firm in Los Angeles, asking for her to fly out for a second interview. After several unreturned calls that my client never knew existed, the company thought she was not interested and did not pursue her. It was years later, when Jeanne was at a luncheon that a representative from that company asked her why she didn't want the job offer. You can imagine how surprised she was to learn the messages never reached her!

Your chart can also show specific times for meeting an especially helpful person or even a soul mate. There is a time and place, agreed upon between two souls to meet up again in your current incarnation.

Knowing what roles the different people who have already appeared in your life are supposed to play, makes your expectations of those people so much easier. Let's say you fall for a new guy or girl at work but your chart also shows they are here to be your co-worker and nothing more, you can save yourself a lot of grief and embarrassment by not chasing after them. But let's that same worker shows up in you chart as a potential marriage partner! Now, there's your answer. The information you can gleam from your astrology chart, in relation to others, is a great benefit to have before you begin a long term relationship or hire a business partner or even want to understand how to deal with a nagging mother in law. What is the karma between you and another person? What can be done to heal the relationship? What can be done to enhance it? Questions can be answered in relation to anyone; family, friend, co workers, lover, your child's teacher, etc.

We are all so busy these days that seldom do we take the time to really know who we are and what we really want to do with our lives. We are all working to put food on the table and make it through another work week. Many of us feel unfulfilled and as if we are on "automatic overdrive". We're missing the boat. But we don't have to. Knowledge is power and by knowing a little more about your soul lesson, your karmic lesson and your life purpose, you have the tools needed to get on the right path toward inner and spiritual fulfillment. So many people, ask me, "Maria, when am I ever going to be at peace"? I always say, you have to understand why you are here and then get on that path. Your soul knows what it needs and wants to do. Many times, your conscious mind does not. So bringing it all together with a tool like astrology helps fill the gap.

Many people are on the wrong path and then feel like failures. They work so hard to achieve a goal that is not aligned with their soul. For instance, we probably all know a guy that his parents want him to follow in their footsteps and be a doctor. Now a doctor is an admirable field. But maybe this doctor deal is not part of this young man's life path. Maybe its not part of his soul's growth. He may struggle to get through school, trying to please the parents and then hate his job and never feel fulfilled. I would tell him and anyone else who is unsure about what they really want to do; to find out what your life purpose and your soul path are. Somehow, they usually go hand in hand and support one another,. When you fulfill your life purpose, all of your material needs are met and wonderful doors open for you. Life becomes a superhighway.

So, if you are feeling unfulfilled and unsure, understand that you can change that. It's all about knowing thyself. Yes, understand the past, so you can thrive in the present.

America's Most Haunted Place

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has been flooded by reports of paranormal activity. From phantom cries of wounded soldiers to life-like apparitions, nearly everyone who's been there has been touched by its haunting spirits since the American Civil War.

Gettysburg was the site where Confederate and Union armies clashed on July 1, 1863. It turned out to be a three-day bloodbath that would change American history forever. When the canon smoke cleared, the Union soldiers had won, but nearly 5,000 horses and 50,000 men lay dead or dying. Many of the Confederate soldiers never received a proper burial. Now, more the 14 decades later, these unsettled spirits may still lurk in Gettysburg.

What can be said that has not been explained or documented by professional photographers and ghost hunters? Gettysburg is the most haunted place in the world. The tragic violence of death is well documented by its imprint left on the grounds. The events of instantaneous death have left a playback loop of voices, noises and images. The tape will continue until the energy wears out. If the death of one man can leave an imprint for years in a home or grounds then imagine 50,000 men.

On July 1, 1863, Confederate General Robert E. Lee led his troops from Northern Virginia up to south central Pennsylvania, to a small, rural town called Gettysburg. He was confronted there by Union General George G. Meade, and although a scrimmage had not been planned, a three-day battle suddenly ensued that was extremely violent and ultimately very bloody. The Confederates were defeated and pushed back to Virginia, but the battle resulted in over 50,000 American casualties, including one civilian casualty, a woman by the name of Jennie Wade who died when a stray bullet entered her window at the very beginning of the battle. It was a morbid massacre, and is considered to be the turning point of the Civil War even though the fighting would continue unabated for another two years. Because of the instances of brutal hand-to-hand combat and high number of deaths, it is believed that nearly all 40 miles of the Gettysburg battlefields are ripe with paranormal activity.

To this day there is insurmountable evidence during the day and night. The veils of Gettysburg are thin. It is believed that since many of the deaths happened so quickly that many men were left where they fell; their final resting place was not buried underground, their souls have never found peace.

There are also reports of malfunctioning cameras developing images that weren't actually there, such as apparitions of soldiers or weapons. Triangular Field, in particular, is one place where tourists will take pictures of the grassy field but will see only black when the film is developed.

Jennie Wade, the one civilian, is said to wander the house where she died along with the ghost of her father, who was institutionalized after her death and ended up passing away in the poor house. Several people have reported seeing a rugged man, barefoot, with a floppy hat and sloppy, ragged clothes on the rocks at Devil's den. According to Civil War buffs, this perfectly matches the description of the unkempt, poorly dressed Texans who were at Gettysburg fighting for the Confederate Army in 1863.

Saturday October 15

Complimentary breakfast at hotel

1.) Our day begins at 11a.m. with a tour of the Jennie Wade House which was featured on many ghost shows. The house is located in the heart of the town, During the Civil War, soldiers warned Jennie and her family several times that they should leave the house because it was right in the middle of the battle. Jennie and her family refused to leave though. The house was hit by bullets several times...you can still see the many bullet holes in the brick walls. One of those bullets went through the kitchen door around 8:30 AM and struck Jennie Wade below her left shoulder blade. She died instantly.

A good to movie to watch is called "The Jennie Wade House IS Haunted". It shows what security cameras have caught and personal experiences. As for me personally, when I did the tour I brought my EMF meter (it lights up and beeps when spirits are around). During the tour I was listening to the tour guide and forgot that in had it in my hand. As he was telling Jennie's story, I felt something ice cold touch my left hand. It actually set off my EMF meter and it started beeping like mad. Was it an orphan child of the war trying to take my hand? Or maybe Jennie herself, trying to reveal that she is still in the house. Her act of kindness, feeding the troops, lead to her own demise.

2.) Afterwards, Joe Lawson will lead us to the Haunted Sach's Covered Bridge

One of the places closely associated with the Civil War is a 100 foot long covered bridge called Sachs Bridge and now the paranormal activity there makes it one of the most haunted places in America. Visitors have claimed to feel a heavy sadness when at the bridge as well as a strong feeling that they are unwanted there and there is heaviness in the air there that cannot be denied.

There is a story containing a darker side to the bridge as well. The story is of 3 men hung from the rafters there. Some research I have read tell of 3 Confederate soldiers caught as spies and hung. Some claim that the three soldiers were deserters and hung and one claims that it was three men caught stealing and hung. The only thing for sure is that these men were hung from the rafters of the bridge and left to die. Pictures taken from the bridge at night have shown strange orbs and streaking lights in them that were not there to the naked eye. There have been claims of hearing cannon and gun fire from the fields around the bridge as well as apparitions and sounds of running horses. There have also been reports of screams, footsteps coming across the bridge and strange mists.

On a personal note, I myself heard a man calling out for help at the river bed. I kept asking him to tell me where he was and I would help him. All I got was more cries for help from the river bed. (Joe Lawson)

3.) Battlefield Tour at your Leisure – Maps available in town. You can spend hours on the battlefield sites. The energy there is so strong that most people with even a slight sixth sense can pick up the energy.

4.) Shopping downtown Gettysburg at your leisure

The quaint shops range from antique to gift shops to war memorabilia you can find nowhere else. The Lincoln Diner is also downtown.

5.) 9p.m. Gettysburg Haunted Wax Museum Investigation - The American Civil War Wax Museum has become a Gettysburg Landmark since opening its doors on April 19, 1962. The museum contains over 35 scenes from the battle, and over 300 life-like wax figures. The museum has given over 8 million visitors a better understanding of the cause and effect of the civil war, however few visitors have had the chance to explore the wax museum after dark, after the attraction doors have closed, and locked for the night. Some of the museum staff have shared that they themselves have experienced strange unexplained phenomenon while there alone; everything from inanimate objects moving on their own, to doors slamming, to muffled whispers in the dark. Do you dare to investigate the dark and haunted corridors while coming face to face with those life-like figurines from your childhood nightmares?

This is already creeping me out! Should be an interesting investigation!!!
