With Christmas behind us, we welcome in the new energies of 2012.
I have written an article on what to expect this year based on the numerology for 2012. A newsletter following in January will have more 2012 news. I also wrote an article on New Years resolutions and best dates to start them.

2012 - A Year of Great Change

The next 12 months are going to be bigger than you may have ever expected. Your ideals, thoughts, life path, expectations and desires are going to change. 2012 may be one of the most important years you've ever experienced.
From a numerological perspective, 2012 is a Number Five Year. Five is about change. Things will not stay the same. Your theme is change. Your job is to accept and embrace the change.
No longer can you sit on the fence and think about what you should do or what you'd like to do one day. That day is here and it's time to take action. I have done readings for many people from around the country and even in foreign countries this past week. ALL of them were making some sort of change or were ready to.
The Number Five energy also relates to creativity, fun, freedom and romance. These will be important values in our lives this year. After several years of hardships, crisis, financial fears, job losses, home foreclosures and the like, people are tired of the crisis and want to enjoy life. Even if some of the problems still persist, the attitude of many is, regardless of troubles, they want to enjoy life and find happiness. We recently saw this attitude represented in the upswing of retail spending over the holidays. People are tired of scrimping.
Each of us will entertain the notion of some change we need or want to make this year because of the Five energy. Many of you must "end" something in your lives to start something new. Change is good because it opens up the door of opportunity for new things, people, situations and options to come into your life.
So many people have claimed their lives have become stagnant and dull. They have felt as if they are just waiting for something to happen. What they must realize is the change must start with them….their willingness to let go of the past, things that are no longer working for them and try something new.
In the past, I have claimed that this is easier said, than done. People are not willing to let go of their security blankets. There is a comfortableness in their uncomfortableness. But this attitude is changing in 2012 because people have found that old attitude has gotten them nowhere.. The same old-same old isn't working for them anymore. Frankly, some folks just don't have a choice but to make changes. But they do have a choice whether or not to openly and whole-heartedly embrace the changes. This year, I believe more of us will be open to embrace new situations like never before…..and yes even the strong willed Taurus, Capricorn and Scorpios!
You will hear of a lot of people making sweeping job, relationship, and residential changes this year. Some of these situations will seem long in coming. Others will take you completely by surprise. I bet many of you will look back on your lives on January 31, 2012 and be amazed at how much your life had changed.
So in this New Year, if something is presented to you, take a look at it. Don't dismiss it. If you keep hearing the same suggestions from people that you should be doing something different, open your ears…. and your heart.
It will be an exciting year. Make time for romance, for fun, for travel and play.
If you know you want to change your life, but you just don't know how to do it, take small steps, talk with a life coach or astrologer. Brainstorm with your friends. Solutions and ideas are all around you. Don't negate or dismiss them. This is not the year to come up with excuses as to why you can't do something. The universe will not settle for this approach. It will keep gnawing at you, making you feel uncomfortable, choked, trapped, restricted, etc. and force you to see that change is the only way. Small steps lead to accomplish too.
If you re-read some of my older newsletter on my website, such as the cardinal climax and Pluto in Capricorn, I predicted this year of change and completion back in 2008 and 2009. It's here! No more time for contemplating. Time for action!
Each year, we begin a new theme based on the Master Number for the New Year. 2012 is 2+0+1+2 = 5; the year of change.

New Year's Resolutions

If it seems easier for some friends to stick to their new years resolutions than others, you may want to consider their success based on their sun sign and astrology chart.
If you're a Pisces, you may want to skip this article all together. Ruled by Neptune (and strictly speaking sun signs) Pisces have no boundaries and they are usually the first to opt out of their resolutions. But don't despair. There's still hope if your natal chart's planets are working on your behalf.
If you're a Capricorn, your convictions are strong and your ruling planet Saturn will help you with discipline and structure.
One of the best ways to decide if a new years resolution will work for you is to look at the transiting planets in your chart. Are you being hit hard right now by Saturn (Aries, Libra, Cancer, etc)? It may be all you can do, just to get up in the morning and drag yourself to work. So putting added stress on your plate, may not be in your best interest at this point but instead, you could delay some resolutions until this period has passed.
If you are an earth sign; Taurus, Capricorn or Virgo you have a better chance of sticking to resolutions than most other signs. Capricorn have the best chance of any zodiac sign to make long term commitments and see results. Taurus do well because they have a stubbornness that cannot be matched. They have tunnel vision but one resolution that is hard to keep is diet and exercise. The Bull loves good food! Virgo does well when they make lists of their resolutions and how they plan to accomplish them. A daily journal works well to keep them on track.
Water Signs can be wishy washy about resolutions. Everything is based on how they feel and their emotions at the time. Out of the three water signs, fixed Scorpio has the most willpower but they have to completely commit in order to be successful..
Cancer will face challenges because they are ruled by the moon and their emotional state changes every two and half days just as the moon changes signs. They can be very strong willed about a plan and then, out of the blue, lose interest. Pisces often find it hard to stick to a resolution. They mean well, but do not like restrictions and boundaries.
Of the Air Signs; Gemini can battle within; the good and evil twin. They can talk themselves into something and out of something. They get bored with the same old routine and easily distracted from their goals. If they can set short-term goals, they would be more successful. Libra needs to work with a friend on attaining goals. They are fortunate in partnerships. So the buddy system works best here. Aquarius as a fixed sign is usually good at following through on things as long as the journey is fun.
Of the Fire Signs, Leo is the best over the long haul because it is fixed sign. They hate to deny themselves anything but do love the attention and applause they get from others for a job well done. They like to set an example too.
Sagittarius do best by using their intuition on what, when and how to achieve their goals. They are positive thinkers and motivated by their minds.
Aries is very goal oriented. They are overachievers and very excited about starting new things but they lose interest quickly. They need fast results to keep them interested.
The best days to start a new years resolution is actually on the new moon on January 23. But if you wish to get started right away, here's a few good dates to do so…January 3, 4 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 24, 30, 31.

We are so excited for about our upcoming tours and events. Joe and I are welcoming over 60 folks on our annual cruise January 9-14 to the Mayan Ruins. A bon voyage party at our home in the French Quarter is planned January 8th. Hope to see many of you at our shows and events.
